Iron Fist, specifically Danny Rand, is a Marvel Comics character who first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 (May 1974).
After his parents death, young Daniel is taken to the mystical city of K'un-Lun, where he trains in martial arts and gains the power of the Iron Fist by defeating the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying. This grants him the ability to summon and focus his chi, enhancing his strength, speed, and healing, and allowing him to deliver powerful punches with his fist glowing with mystical energy.
Returning to New York City, Danny uses his abilities to fight crime and corruption, often teaming up with other heroes, most notably Luke Cage as part of the Heroes for Hire.
